Questions — From the OREN Inbox

The questions we get asked most often, answered honestly. If yours isn't here, write directly to johannhubert@orenfragments.com — you'll get a real reply from the studio, not a support desk.

What is a Fragment?

A Fragment is what OREN calls a single piece. A shirt, a ring, a cap, a chain. We use the word instead of 'product' because each piece is small on purpose — a piece of something larger that will never be assembled into a single image. The picture is the person wearing them.

What does FR. stand for in the product codes?

FR. is short for Fragment. Every piece OREN makes carries a code starting with FR., then a letter for the family (T for tees, J for jewelry, etc.), then a number that never resets. FR.T01 is the first tee, FR.T01 forever — even after the last one ships. The full table of codes lives on the studio page.

How often do you release new pieces?

OREN doesn't follow a season schedule. We release pieces in deliveries — small groups, a few times a year, when they're ready. Some pieces come back in the next delivery; most are made once. The archive grows. The catalogue does not. Join the waitlist to hear before the next one lands.

Do you have sales or discount codes?

No. OREN doesn't run sales, doesn't issue discount codes, doesn't do Black Friday. The price is the price. If a piece is sold out, it might come back in the next delivery, or it might not. Nothing is made to be replaced.

What if a piece doesn't fit?

Returns are free within 14 days of receipt. Cotton can be stretched slightly damp if needed, but if the size is wrong from the start, send it back and we'll exchange or refund. Full return policy here.

How long does shipping take?

Every Fragment is packed by hand in 2–5 working days, then ships with tracking. Free worldwide on orders over €300. EU delivery typically arrives within 3–7 working days after dispatch. International (UK, US, rest of world) takes 5–12 working days. Shipping rates and zones.

What materials do you use?

It depends on the piece. Cotton for most of the apparel, silver for the jewellery — but nothing is fixed across the board, and whatever a given piece is made from is listed on its own page. Everything is chosen for how it ages, not how it looks new. No sweatshops.

Where is everything made?

It depends on the piece, and it's always stated on the piece itself. Some are made with partners chosen for one thing they do well; some are printed or finished by hand in the studio. There is no single answer that fits everything — the where and the how belong on each product, not here.

Is OREN sustainable?

OREN doesn't use the word as a marketing claim. What we do: small batches, no overproduction, no sales-driven manufacturing, materials chosen for how they age, made-to-order where possible. No sweatshops. The most sustainable garment is the one that doesn't need to be replaced.

Can I return a piece for a refund?

Yes — within 14 days of receipt, in original condition. The return is free within Germany; for EU and international we cover return shipping for size exchanges, the wearer covers it for general returns. Full withdrawal policy.

Do you make custom pieces?

Sometimes. Custom work is rare and usually develops out of a conversation. Write directly to Johann with what you have in mind. No promises, but if it fits the studio it might happen.

Where can I see what's coming next?

The Coming page shows pieces being made now. Pieces appear in the Current Delivery when they're ready, and not before. There are no countdowns and no published release dates.

How do I care for my Fragment?

Each Fragment comes with care instructions specific to its material. The short version, true for most pieces: cold wash, inside out, no fabric softener, no high heat. Air dry when you can. Wash less than you think you need to. For specific questions — stains, holes, ageing, repair — use Ask Johann and get a direct reply from the studio.

Can I visit the studio?

Not currently. The studio is a working space, not a showroom. If there's a reason to meet — collaboration, press, custom work — write to Johann and we'll arrange it.

How can I get press images / collaborate?

See the press kit for logos, images, founder bio, and contact. For partnerships, write directly.
